Canadian artist Housewife has dropped her fantastic new single, ‘Divorce’. It’s an exploratory, indie-leaning cut that allows her introspective alt-pop sound to shine. Her layered voice is airy and melodic, sitting perfectly atop slightly distorted guitar chords that build into an anthemic, warm chorus laced with a subtle grunginess. She explains that the track came about "after experiencing really bad heartbreak that kind of blindsided me and completely uprooted me. It's about not only mourning the person and the relationship you have with them, but also the life you were building together. It's about starting to rebuild and the struggle between needing to protect yourself, but also not wanting to be involved in something adversarial with someone who has hurt you.” Her new EP is dropping in early 2025. -Dan Peeke
